I have a custom label field created and have lots of issues assigned that use this custom label field. When I go to run a search in the Basic mode, is there a way for this custom label field to present options that are present in this field? If I go to an Issue and start typing text into this custom label, it present me options of past options to choose, but not in search.
For example, say in this custom label field I tagged an issue as "MapSearches". When I go to run a search on this custom label field, someone has to know they need to type "MapSearches" into the field to find the ticket. If someone starts typing "Map", why does the search not present options of customer labels to search on?
We are currently using Jira 7.5
Hello,
Is not possible, when you say "If I go to an Issue and start typing text into this custom label, it present me options of past options to choose" is the browser who show you what you put in this customfield last times.
If it's a text customfield, when you will make a search you'll only have the "~",is not","is" and" !~" option .
Here an example:
Sorry for my english

Thank you for the response. I am familiar with browser auto complete based on options I last typed, but that's not what's happening here. I went to a computer that has never accessed our Jira system before and the suggestions box popped up when I accessed the field and started typing in it. This same list does not appear when i try to perform a search on it. However, a list does appear when I used the Jira default "Labels" field.

Here's the case in action:
I go to an issue and start typing in the field called Flexmls Component which is configured as a labels field. When I start typing, a Suggestions box comes up.

Hi,
Ok i get it, it impossible this feature don't exist, a ticket is raise at the atlassian support see this:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-44548
But Atlassian won't fix it for the moment.
You can create a select list customfield with arbitrary value that the users will select and make a search based on those value.
