Hi all,

I'm working on a dashboard to display Epics that are missing specific fields like "Investment Category" and "Due Date" per team project within my org.

Is it possible to customize a gadget so that the X axis shows columns called "Investment Category" and "Due Date" while the Y axis shows the epics per team project that are missing data in those fields?

Up until now, I have created a gadget view per team using the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget so that the table's X axis shows the columns Key, Summary and Reporter while the Y axis shows the epics. I would like to make these gadget views easier for my teams to view and understand exactly what in the epic is missing (Investment Category, Due Date, Description etc). Currently, the team needs to click into the epic and then look for what is missing.

You can create a set of Filter Results gadgets that will be highlighting issues with specific fields being empty. E.g. no Due Date, no Estimates, etc. Good thing is that you can customize columns for each of those gadget individually.

Additionally, you can set up email subscription on regular basis for matching issues. This can be an aggregated search for all "problematic" issues.

Would that work?

Hi @Stephanie Baron

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You could also try the Filter results gadget of Jira configured with a filter that returns the epics that are missing one of those fields. Something like:

issueType = Epic AND ("Investment Category" IS EMPTY OR "Due Date" IS EMPTY) ORDER BY PROJECT

You can then configure the gadget to display Project, Team, Key, Investment Category and Due Date, thus getting a list with the epics that needs attention.

As an alternative solution, you could search on Atlassian Marketplace for a plugin that offers such gadget. If you want to try a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers a Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget that can display multi-dimensional statistics in form of table, pivot tables, or charts. or it can just display issues in a custom structure. It works like pivot table in Excel, you configure it by dragging & dropping fields.

Here is an example of what you could display:

Feel free to contact support@stonikbyte.com if you need any help with the setup of this gadget.

Hi @Stephanie Baron ,

I think I understand what you want, but I don't understand how you managed to show different columns on the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget. It allows users to choose only field/column for each axis. Also, please tell me, did you try the Filter Results filter? You can choose multiple columns there to see the content right away.

Best regards,
Alexey

Hi, @Stephanie Baron

Welcome to the community!

The Two-dimensional gadget works well for issue count, but it does not provide you with more advanced information on the data displayed. Since your need is related to status and progress, you will probably need to look for a gadget from a marketplace app. If you are open to it, I suggest you try Mindpro Insights. The app allows you to create interactive dashboards and it has an "Epic Progress" gadget that I believe fits what you are looking for. It shows the epic progress and dates, and indicates when it is delayed:

Since the gadgets are interactive, if you click in an Epic bar from the chart, the entire dashboard adapts itself to filter data for that particular Epic:

Will can also use the "Hierarchy" filter to display the issues list in an indented way:

The dashboards can be shared with internal users or groups, so it helps you report activities quickly.

I hope that helps.

Regards,

Eduardo
