Some of our product support teams have recently moved to Jira Service Desk to improve our intake process (and the Kanban framework in general) and have overall found an improvement. As part of this improvement, we've been using the Cycle Time and Lead Time fields from Jira Service Desk.
We've been able to pull the Cycle and Lead Times from our teams into Jira on the Issue Navigator screen and through the Export function.
HOWEVER when trying to do our standard team reporting in Confluence through the Jira Charts, these fields load as blank and we're not able to dynamically report this out on Confluence. Is there a reason these fields aren't showing up as expected or is there something additional that needs to be done to configure them?
Thanks!
Hi @Dana Gould
Additional to the list of tools listed above, you can try one of the following applications:
Time Between Statuses - calculate the Cycle and Lead Time of your Jira issues by setting start/stop/pause statuses
Time in Status for Jira Cloud by SaaSJet - will help you monitor the Cycle and Lead Time by grouping statuses.
Hope it helps
Regards
Hello Dana,
If you are interested in a ready-to-go solution, our team at OBSS created Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira app for this exact need. It is available for Jira Cloud, Server and Data Center.
Using Time in Status you can report how much time each issue spent on each status, each assignee or even each user group. (useful for calculating lead/cycle times and identifying bottlenecks in your process). You can also see the number of times each status or transition was used (very useful for inspecting things like reopen counts). You can also list the status entry/exit dates.
You can produce reports based on the default 24/7 calendar or define your own business calendars with custom workdays and working hours.
Also add system or custom fields as columns to your report and customize the view format of durations.
All data can be exported as XLS, XLSX, CSV.

Edit on 11 Dec 2019: We recently introduced Consolidated Columns (which display the total duration for a group of statuses) so users now can create columns for metrics like Cycle Time or Lead Time and pick which status durations to include in these columns.
