DO all statuses of a ticket need to be displayed on sprint boards?

I want to add a few more statuses for tickets but don't want to see all statuses as some of them are irrelevant- on the sprint board.  Can I do this?

Adding to what the others have already said...

If you elect to move those statuses to the Unmapped statuses area of your board's Column configuration be aware that the issue will not display at all on the board when in those status and also will not display in the Backlog screen.

If you want the issues to not display on the Board but to display on the Backlog screen, then the statuses must be mapped to a board Column.

You can typically move those statuses to an unassigned column, which will hide them from the boards.To do this, you need to be a board admin.

Go to Board Settings and select Columns and Statuses.

Then unmap all statuses you don't need, or group them in one column (whatever makes sense to you)

Board columns are customizable, you can leave the status which you wouldn’t want to shown on board in unmapped column.

You can’t move issues into those statuses that are not mapped to columns in board by drag and drop but you will still be able to move them from the issue view.
