Dashboard

I'm in a Next Gen Project (not sure what that means) and can't find any menu/ button/ etc. for building a dashboard. Can someone please help me navigate?

Dashboards do not belong to projects.

I have a "next-gen project" version of JIRA and I can't find any of the 'pointers' to the dashboard that are in the article.

I tried to 'paste' in a screen-shot, but it wouldn't go.....

You have Jira Cloud. It is not a next-gen project Jira. Jira Cloud contains both next-gen and classic projects.
