I have few question related to data residency move. We currently have no location set
1. Will the jira link be accessible when the data is migrated to new location
2. When we select migration during maintainance hours what will be the time for migration to new location
3. Is there any noted impact of of this activity.
4. Xray app location as well has to be set as well will it have any impact.
If possible can you please share answers and articles as well for the questions.
Hello @Snehil Gupta ,
Welcome to community :)
Please find detailed explanation on the same here : https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/understand-data-residency/
Answer your questions
Q1. All products – your product will be offline at the start of the move . You can check this https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/move-data-to-another-location/#:~:text=to%2030%20days.-,How%20a%20data%20residency%20move%20affects%20your%20product%C2%A0,-Before%20you%20request
Q2. Maintenance windows occur daily between 1 am and 3 am in the timezone of the server. Your maintenance window is chosen based on the timezone when you sign up.
We would need your instance URL to see your site timezone and its window
Q3. Just that the products will be offline and wont be accessible for the users.
q4. you can check this for marketplace apps : https://support.atlassian.com/security-and-access-policies/docs/moving-your-marketplace-apps-data-to-another-location/
Thank you,
Prachi

hello @Snehil Gupta
Thank you for your reply :)
Here you are setting the data location to a specific region, while this step is ongoing, the jira will be offline which means nothing will work within jira, that is creating issues, automation etc. Same is mentioned in the documents.
To know the timezone, we would need the instance URL
You can reach out to support https://support.atlassian.com/contact/ and share the url that needs to have data residency so that team can check the window timezone when this will run
Thank you,
Prachi
