Delete Issue From Backlog

Why can't the site admin for Jira delete an issue?  How can that be changed?

The permission to delete issues in a project is setup in the Permission Scheme for the project. Most likely, then site-admin group is not part of this permission. You can solve this problem in 2 ways:

1. Add the site-admin group to the permission to delete issues in the Permission Scheme used by your project.
2. Check which other role/group has access to delete permission and add people to that role/group.

My preference is to use the jira-adminitrators group for these purposes and leave the site-admin to control the properties associated to the instance itself.
