So I'm one of those folks who went and created a jira space using the free app but now am working with my internal team to use our official space - but it seems like the free space I created is causing login/authentication quirks.  So I need to blow the environment I created away - how do I best do this?

(think official environment is under companyname@atlassian.net, and I had created a companyname-dept operations@atlassian.net - and i need to blow the second environment that I created away without touching the paid license apps/environment)

Hi @Cori McDermott ,

Atlassian Cloud doesn't allow deleting environments directly. However, you can reset and deactivate the unwanted environment (companyname-dept operations@atlassian.net). This essentially cleans it out while keeping your paid licenses and official environment (companyname@atlassian.net) untouched.

Steps to Reset and Deactivate:

  • Log in: Access your Atlassian account associated with the unwanted environment (companyname-dept operations@atlassian.net).
  • Go to Administration: Navigate to “Site administration” settings.
  • Billing Section: Under “Billing,” locate the product you want to reset (likely Jira Software).
  • Reset Option: Click the three dots (...) next to the product and select “Reset.”
  • Confirmation: Enter “DELETE” in the confirmation field and click “Reset immediately.”

Keep In MIND :

This resets the unwanted environment, deleting all data (projects, issues, etc.) but preserving your licenses.

DONT FORGET TO

Double-check you're resetting the correct environment (companyname-dept operations@atlassian.net).
Consider exporting any essential data from the unwanted environment before resetting, if possible.
After resetting, you can deactivate the product entirely if you don't need it anymore. This step is optional but prevents future billing for the unwanted environment.
