Hello all,

in our company we have several project teams and several service teams which all have different Jira projects in our instance. The members of the teams have only access to / rights on their own projects.

Some issues in project teams are actions in a service team and therefore need to be (currently manually) created in the service team project as a similar issue and the issues have logically dependency which are currently not linked in the system.

How can we solve technically, that the dependend issues are created and linked automatically? Can you recomand a best practice setup for this kind of requirement?

Thank you and warm regards
Kai

Hello @Kai Hoyler
I am part of the Support Team for Decadis and I would like to share with you some information about our app.

Jira Workflow Toolbox is a powerful app that can help you customize workflows with versatile Conditions, Validators and post functions.

You can use the Create issue post function to automatically create and link issues. You can find more information and use cases here: https://apps.decadis.net/display/JWTSDC/Create+issue#

If you need more information, you can always visit our documentation or contact us via our Service Desk.

With kind regards,

Nicolas

Hi @Kai Hoyler You could do this in various ways, but please try the following:

Use Automation Rules to create issue in another project from various triggers. You can also set issue links in the same Automation.

Hope this helps!

Hello @Anandhi Arumugam _Cprime_ ,

thank you for your hint with the automation rules. This was indeed the only thing I had in mind, too. If I do it like that there will be lots of rules to be created and maintained.

What are the other ways you are thinking of? Are automation rules the only way to implement inter-project work between different teams?

Thanks for some more input.

You could try apps like

1. Script Runner - Gives you post-functions to create issues from a transition

2. Elements Copy & Sync where you can create recipes if you want to copy field values from the source issue to target

3. JMWE - To create issues from transition
