Description Field - different context based on Issue Type with in the same project

Hi,

 

Can you please help me how to do below configuration in JIRA for Description field.

Use case:

I want to display different default values for Description field (System field) based on issue type in the same Project. i.e. 

If User tries to create Bug, want to show Steps to reproduce etc... in Description field

If User tries to Create User story, want to show Acceptance Criteria etc.. in Description field

I've never seen this implemented successfully but you can see the solutions mentioned here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Setting-Description-HTML-based-on-issue-type/qaq-p/1113698

I would look into using a display custom field that you could display for the given issue type that could communicate that info. message.jpg

Hi Josh, Thank you for the quick response.

Do I need to use plug in (Script Runner) to execute suggested script.

If  Scriptrunner plugin is available in your JIRA instance, it can be achieved with Behaviors.

Hi @Sreenivasaraju P , i went through above links, didn’t find solution on configuring Description field based on issue type.
