Dialog and rest end point

Hi I have created a rest end point and wired it to a web item. When I press the web item I'm not getting any response. Also I have tried accessing the rest endpoint still no response.

This is the code I have used. Code from adaptavist docs

Its working now but is there any way of displaying the dialog in the same issue page?
