Hi everybody, I'm rather new in Jira, and wonder about the difference between the groups site-admins, jira-administrators and administrators.

Regards

Mats

Hi Mats,

welcome to Atlassian Community!

Basically it is not so hard.

First of all there are system administrators and Jira administrators. They are responsible for keeping the instance healthy by doing administrative stuff outlined in this section.

Apart from that there are project administrators. They are responsible for managing a Jira project. Not every task can be done by them. In case they need to adjust a setting which is not available to them they need to escalate to their Jira administrators. Additionally, project administrators are a bridge between the users of a projects and the Jira administrators.
Please kindly check the documentation on them here.

Cheers,
Daniel
