Difficulty changing status despite simplified workflow

I have a project, which has simplified workflow active;

However when I try to change the status by dropping and dragging between columns, i get the following error;

On the issue, there is also no where to amend the status;

I would just like to be able to change the status!!

Any help would be much appreciated!

THE ANSWER!!

It turns out I had issues with the Project permissions. 

To resolve;

project settings > permissions > issue permissions - transition issues edited the role type to include all logged in users.

Your workflow shows as a draft. Please either publish or check the active workflow.

When you drag to story from the 'Backlog' column, are you trying to drop the story on a column that is not highlighted within a dashed box? If so, this means you do not have a transition setup between these two statuses.

here is the workflow? should i be looking elsewhere? the columns are not highlighted when dragging.

Do you have any conditions/validators for the transition (e.g. required fields)?
