There are 3 people authorized on a board. When I want to give one of them only the permission to view all tasks on the board, I cannot succeed.
The steps I took;
- I gave the Customer project role to the person who only has the permission to view.
- I changed the Issue Security Scheme on the board.
- What should I do in the Permission permissions of the relevant board?
First, please clarify if this is a Team-Managed Project or a Company-Managed Project.
I'm going to assume it's the latter.
Each person listed on the "Project Settings > People" page can be in one or more Role. Project Admins can control which people have what Role in their Jira Project.
Roles are defined in a Permission Scheme. Permission Schemes are managed by Jira Admins. You can see what's in the Permission Scheme for a Project by going to "Project Settings > Permissions". The mapping of specific Permissions to certain Roles can be seen there.
The problem you're experiencing is most likely due to the Role given to the person, or to the Permissions granted to that Role in the Permission Scheme. The "Browse Projects" permission must be available to a person in the Project in order for them to view the work items in that Project.
Issue Security Schemes are layered on top of all this, and are applied to individual work items. It's an advanced feature needed only in some settings. I've rarely seen an organization need them, particularly when the Permission Schemes and Roles are defined well and used properly.
The People, Roles, and Permission Scheme settings should allow a Person in the Project to see work items that do not have an any Issue Security applied to them. So start there.

Is "Customer" the full name of the project role to which you assigned the user?
