Do plugins need any specific configuration for OnDemand?

I am implementing a large configuration UI for JEMH 1.0, what limitations/impacts will OnDemand have with what is currently a JIRA 5.x mail handler, i.e. administrators need to see the links to be able to access, if the System/Mail... section is not available, what about Plugins/Integrations... ? As a developer do I have to do anything differently?

Hi Andy,

You are correct, any extension that required a restricted function would be a non-starter for OnDemand bundling. In cases I've seen this isn't due to use of specific plugin extension points, but instead a requirement for a custom listener or a dependency on another program/library (graphviz for example).

We're currently taking a long, hard look at how we've done bundling with OnDemand as the amount of testing required per release has grown to an untenable level. I'll share more information about what we decide is the best approach going forward as soon as that's worked out.

Cheers,

Douglas

We don't really have many plugin developers doing things for the OnDemand platform. JEMH would need to go through a fairly rigorous review. Have you seen the OnDemand plugin policy?

If you hadn't gotten word of it through Atlascamp or elsewhere, the long-term strategy for OnDemand is Remote Apps.

I realize this isn't an actual answer to your question, directly, but I'm guessing those docs might be what you're really after. Let me know if you already know about both those links and still want an answer to the question as written.

Thanks Jeremy,

I do see the problems with plugins for OnDemand and that new ones would have to be compelling and pass stringent requirements, just curous.

I had seen the linked doc but it didn't fill in the blanks I'd seen this page with a list of things users couldnt do OnDemand, so I was curious what might this affect in terms of plugin extension points?

I'm certainly thinking of remoteapps for a bunch of possible applications in future but thats a different schnitzel.
