There are third party apps which provide resource and capacity planning. How effective are those when compared with advanced roadmaps? do we really need them and are there any limitations of Advanced roadmap ?
Hi @Sanshia Wadhwa
It's Mary from Planyway:)
It really depends on your needs. The Advanced Roadmap offers you the team visualization on the epic level, plus other issue types with the paid plan. But if you want to get more automation, like help with resource allocation, I'd recommend to trial Planyway app.
Here's a detailed page on resource planning in Jira.
Thank you Maria .

Advanced roadmaps is planning tool like MS planner. Plan is created in roadmaps and pushed down to jira project. You can create you resource team with skills n schedule etc. if you create ticket in planner you get basic summary.
Source for plan can be project or existing board or multiple projects
Main tip new issue initiative need created..it is above epics. Have to drag and drop child tickets onto epic parents in roadmaps
