Does Greenhopper 5.8 solely use the global rank or can we still use the planning board with the old "rank" field?

From looking at the documentation, there is no reference to the night service or the old rank field. This leads me to believe that the global rank is now the only rank field that will work with Greenhopper 5.8, even for the planning and task boards.

If that is the case, can we use an older version of greenhopper with jira 4.4.3 until we are ready to migrate to the global rank.

Hi Nancy,

When you upgrade to GreenHopper 5.8 you will be switched over to the Global Rank. More details can be found in the upgrade guide.

If you have an exsiting JIRA/GH setup, you will still use the planning board with the old Rank field.
If / when you are ready to switch, you can go into config to enable the Global Rank.

Not sure what happens if you install from scratch?

Ran the upgrade to 4.4.3 and it looks like Greenhopper 5.7.4 is bundled with jira 4.4.3 instead of Greenhopper 5.8. That answers part 2 of my question.
