To upgrade a PostgreSQL database, you need to dump and restore, as described here:

http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.4/static/install-upgrading.html

The "pg_dumpall" has a special option ("-o") to preserve OIDs, for applications that use them. Does anyone know if JIRA is such an application?

Thanks!

Hi, I can't tell for sure, but I've been using this command to backup/restore postgres databases for quite some time now and never had a problem:

pg_dump dbname -h localhost -U postgres > backup.sql

I hope it helps.

Cheers
