Does Jira Cloud support - read Only Text format for a custom field

I am trying to show a suggested format on our bug screen, which I would like it to be read only. I have added that field but cannot set the default value to show. 

There was a post from 2016 - that says to install a Jira Tool kit. Is that still the case now or is it now available as part of Jira Cloud.

For now I have added a list with single item - which is read only.

Any suggestions?

What is your exact use case? Have created different screens for Create, Edit, and View?

Hello, Good day. You can create an automation rule to update the "Ready only field" as well. This way value will be directly added on the issue.

read only text format from what I read it says it needs a tool kit plug-in. I was looking to find if that is still required? I did add the read only text field but it does not show up on the screen. I think this for Atlassian dev to set in the code.
