Does Jira cloud comes with a built-in database?

Jira Support August 9, 2015

My company plans on purchasing and implementing the following Atlassian products on Cloud:

Jira
Agile
Service Desk
Portfolio

Confluence

  1. Do these come with a database?
  2. Which internal database will the Atlassian Cloud use? Oracle, etc
  3. How secure is the database? Backups, etc
  4. How big is the cloud database?
  5. Can the database be expanded later-on?
  6. Will i need to purchase another cloud database and link to it?

We plan to implement these Atlassian products over the next 4 months.

The first one we will be implementing is Service Desk.

Regards,

  1.  Yes, the applications need somewhere to store data and they use a database
  2. Postgres, but you don't care because you won't be using it directly
  3. https://www.atlassian.com/cloud/security
  4. You are limited to 25Gb total
  5. No
  6. No, you have no need to do anything with the databases

Also, the first one you will implement will not be Service Desk.  Service Desk is an addon for JIRA, so you have to have JIRA before Service Desk will run.  Not that this matters on Cloud, it's handled for you.
