Is Jira suitable for the following functions and tasks ?
1. Allows everybody in the team to view the tasks ?
2. Allows assignment of tasks to individuals ?
3. Allows notes and links to be captured in tasks tracking of task status ?
4. Allows the tracking of task status, progress and target completion date ?
5. Allows the tagging or categorization and grouping of tasks ?
6. Allows us to generate reports on the status of tasks ?
7. Ideally allows email notifications for task assignments ?

In short, all of the above is possible in Jira with the appropriate configuration (most of this is standard out-of-the box functionality).
