We are a product development company and our products are either the automation of government-related services or independent platforms.
We need to know if there could be a dashboard in Jira that can provide us with some visibility as to what activity in product development took how long. This is needed right from ideation to business case development to MVP development and launching.
We appreciate if the community could respond.

No, Jira doesn't have any dashboards built in by default, but you can easily build your own. It will depend on how you are representing your product development in Jira (you'll need to be doing it with issues to get the most out of it)
Hi,
If you might consider another app for Jira, eazyBI could helpl here. Please check some example reports on the Demo account: https://eazybi.com/accounts/1000/dashboards/7513-age-lead-and-cycle-time
Kindly,

Hi @Nayyer Abdul Rab 👋
Out of the box, Jira doesn’t provide a dedicated product development dashboard that tracks the full journey from ideation through MVP launch. However, you can definitely build one with a combination of Jira features and Marketplace apps.
Here’s how you could set it up:
1. Use Jira’s built-in dashboards
Add standard gadgets like Created vs Resolved Issues, Sprint Burndown, and Control Chart to track general progress.
Combine with custom filters to show the status of tasks at each stage (ideation, business case, MVP, launch).
2. Add metrics tracking and performance insights
To see how long activities take (Cycle Time, Lead Time, Resolution Time, etc.), you’ll need an add-on like Time Metrics Tracker | Time Between Statuses.
It measures time between statuses (e.g., “Ideation → Business Case → Development → Launch”).
Provides visual dashboards (Agile Metrics, Scatter Plot, Histogram) so you can easily identify bottlenecks.
Reports work with your full Jira history, so you’ll get insights even before the app was installed.
3. Tailor the view for product development
Create metrics for each key stage of your process: time from Ideation to Business Case, Business Case to MVP, and MVP to Launch.
Add alerts when tasks exceed expected durations to keep the team on track.
Export reports if stakeholders need formal presentations.

Yes, Jira offers robust product development dashboards that provide real time visibility into sprint progress, backlog status, velocity and issue tracking. These dashboards can be customized with gadgets like burndown charts, cumulative flow diagrams and team workload views essential for Agile teams.
When integrated with tools like Confluence and Bitbucket it becomes a powerful hub for end-to-end product management. Teams working on complex digital platforms such as those built by software product development company like CONTUS Tech, rely on Jira dashboards to maintain alignment between engineering, QA and product stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.

If you're up for a commercial alternative, our app Dashboard Hub for Jira, provides some dashboard templates that help you get up to speed with Agile projects. It also provides more than 60 different gadgets and metrics out of the box, and powerful custom charts to build graphs for your specific cases. You can see a live example Agile Team dashboard or here DevOps dashboard or this one ITSM dashboard.
Hope this helps!
