Does Jira support the use of LDAPS?

Amos Nung March 23, 2020

I was able to configure and import an certificate to enable the "use SSL" on Confluence and Jira, however when logging into Jira users would sometimes not be able to login. How do I enable "use SSL" and allow Jira users to login.

Hi Amos,

using LDAP over SSL ("use SSL") is absolutely possible. I came across several setups that work like this.

I am a bit concerned as you said they are sometimes not able to login. This could indicate that there is some kind of problem with the LDAP server or the connection to it.

Having a look at log files (Jira and LDAP, both just to be on the safe side) might help troubleshooting this problem.

Without further details it is quite hard to be of more help on this.

Here the more general documentation for LDAP authentication which you probably already know.

Cheers,
Daniel
