Hello,
I want to add a Status called 'In Review' to my Company-managed business project. This project is already active and has Issues that are in the Statuses of 'To Do', 'In Progress' and 'Done'.
I added the 'In Review' Status in the Workflow - see image below:
When I click the Publish Draft it gives the below popup (see image below). My question is when I publish this new Workflow will it affect all the active Issue Statuses I have - that is move the Issues from 'In Progress' and 'Done' back to 'To Do'? Also will it delete or effect Issues in any way? This is an active ongoing project, I don't want to affect anything except add the option to move Issues from 'In Progress' to 'In Review' to 'Done' as an alternative to 'In Progress' to 'Done'.
Hi Roxsanne!
Adding a new status won’t affect existing statuses or issues. It won’t delete issues or change the status of any issues.
The only impact is that your new status will take effect once you publish the changes.
Jira shows this message whenever you edit a workflow because you have the option to save a copy of the previous version in case you need to roll back.
Hope it helps!
Hi Roxsanne,
If you are just adding a new status to your workflow, it will not affect the status of any existing issues using that workflow. Also, no need for a backup - just select No and Publish away!
