Trying to find whether the Time Since Issue Report shows the number of issues with a set field on any given day, OR if it is showing only the number of issues where that field was actively set that particular day.
[Editing as to not confuse anyone: had previously used an example of assignee, but that does not apply to this question]

testing on my local site it works quite simple. The report shows (for example when using the field "Created") when an issue was added.
In the table you will see that information.
When hovering over the bar of the diagram you will see the total of the issues that were, for example, open at a specific date.

I looked at a Company Managed project, and brought up the Reports list for a Kanban board for that project and selected the Time Since Issue Report. The description shown at the top of the page for configuring that report says:
Description:
For a date field and project/filter, maps the issues against the date that the field was set.
You asked about the Assignee field. Note that this report can be used only for Date type fields.
What are you trying to accomplish in the report you are trying to create?

My apologies that my example did not apply.
Basically I'm trying to determine whether "the date that the field was set" means it will only count that issue once (on the date it was set) or if it will count that issue for all subsequent dates since it has something set in the field.
I'm trying to comprehend this for an Atlassian exam
