Does a deleted issue stay in database and end up in a report?

Hello

I am a new user to JIRA software (Server) version and wanted to know whether if I were to set up an issue, add all sorts of labels, components, assignee to it and then delete the issue

Does that issue get written to a database and I run the risk of it still appearing in any future  JIRA reporting?

Your help or advice on this is much appreciated

Dear Helen,

welcome to the Atlassian community. From my knowledge a deleted issue is gone consistently and will not show up again.

In general you try to limit the ability of deleting issues to a small group of people or even prohibit issue deletion all together.
