Does anyone know if/when the "New Issue View" screen will become permanent/mandatory?

I have the new issue view screen disabled because I find it to be extremely cumbersome and I'm hoping that it will never become a mandatory. I'm wondering if I'm just prolonging the inevitable and ,if so, by how much.

In all honesty, I'd expect it would become permanent and mandatory sooner or later.  How long it will take is really anybody's guess, but when this kind of major interface change has happened in the past, it's usually some with or shortly after the full release of the next major version of Jira (this would be Jira 8 in this case, which is still unannounced, officially)

Anything more than that would be speculation.
