I'm thinking about installing Jira in the atlassian cloud. After reviewing the documentation I have the following doubts:
Can users validate against LDAP?
Is SSO validation possible?
Would it be possible to install a CMDB in the future?
Is it possible to install two instances (PRE and PRO)?
What are the conditions in the elaboration of tailored developments using groovys?
Thanks a lot.
Hi Ivan,
Welcome to the community. To answer your questions:
Can users validate against LDAP?
Users cannot directly validate with LDAP with you want to directly connect your AD domain controllers to Atlassian cloud, but you can validate with LDAP credentials if you have another single sign on solution, such as Azure AD, ADFS, Okta and a few others.
Is SSO validation possible?
Yes, SSO validation is possible via SAML. This is all done via Atlassian Access. You can read more about that here - https://www.atlassian.com/software/access
Would it be possible to install a CMDB in the future?
Yes, check out the marketplace. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?hosting=cloud&product=jira&query=cmdb While there are only a few at the moment, this number is sure to grow as the asset management API was only recently opened to developers.
Is it possible to install two instances (PRE and PRO)?
To do this, you simply sign up for two instances. At the moment, it is not possible to synchronise data and configuration between them as you might by restoring a database in an on-prem solution.
What are the conditions in the elaboration of tailored developments using groovys?
Could you elaborate what you mean by this? The execution of groovy is slightly more limited in the cloud. Are there any particular things you are trying to achieve?
Cheers,
Jimmy
We use SSO using our azure accounts.
No you can not validate directly to Ldap
