I'm trying to add the due date field into the incident screen that an agent sees. The field has been added however it not there by default. To make changes to that field, I have to click on edit and then the field will appear in that screen for you to edit. I've tried to look for how to guides online but none of them have said how to add the Due Date field. Can someone please advise how i can add the due date permanently to the 'Dates' part of the ticket?

Jira works in a way that if a field is not set with a value (yet) you will not see it in the Issue View, only once the field have value you will see it there in the Dates Section.
You must go to EDIT first and add a value.
Unless, you are using Jira Cloud, with the new Jira view, there they changed the concept and there is not Edit & Issue View, there is only 1 view so fields with no values are shown (as you wanted)
