Hi team - We created an automation rule to end with sending an email. A challenge we experienced was that the owner for the automation rule recieved the email three times (not intended), and then once with all of the watchers included (intended). The rule ended up having an error which is the last email from AJ that was sent. Could you give us guidance on this? Thanks!
When you review the work item history / changelog, do you see one or multiple transitions to that status, Submit for Manager Approval?
When you review the audit log for the rule, do you see one or multiple rule executions in a narrow timeframe (or for the same work item)?
And, if one of the rule executions shows errors, please post an image of that audit log entry with all the details expanded. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi there! Thanks for looking into this more! Please take a look - it looks like because the rule was edited it triggered emails? Does that sounds right?

Based upon your other posts, is the symptom solved?
If not, based upon the log you show a person / user appears to have been added who does not have permissions to see the work item in the project.
Please check each of the users in your log to determine if they have access to the project for that work item.

Whenever you ask for help with an Automation Rule it will help us to help you if you provide:
1. what type of project is this (e.g., company-managed, team-managed, etc.),
2. images that show your complete rule.
3. images showing the details of any relevant actions/conditions/branches.
4. images showing the Audit Log details for the rule execution.
5. Explain where the issue is.
These questions are not for not willing to help, but to have community members understand on how automation works.

Based on you rule, when the automation executes, an email sent to all watchers of the issue
The action to add people as watchers, will also sent an email based on the watchers set as to be notified on any notifications set in the notification scheme used on the project.

Hi @Amanda Sugatan ,
The automation seems ok, I have no explanation on why automation appears executed several time.
