Dear Experts.
I am in a project wherein we are tracking lots's of data and in order to maintain consistency, i want to create dependent list in JIRA. which has to be dynamic as well.
Like If I select A, the dropdown list gives me the fields categorized in A, [Like A has..1,3,5,7,8 etc,so]
Like we create in excel the same way i want to configure in JIRA.
Since I am new in JIRA hence started exploring on othersources too,
I shall lookforward for your positive response and if you video links or document related to above query. kindly share if no cost or much efforts required.
Thanks!
Regards, M
I think you want to use a 'Cascading select' custom field, where you can chose one option and based on that option, another set of options will appear.
If you haven't added a custom field to your issue types before check out the documentation here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/adding-editing-and-deleting-a-custom-field-776636410.html
Thanks Joshua, for your swift response and liking my question :)
Fields are already created by JIRA developer and then handed over to me and now i want to run this as per my views.
I shall check the given link and revert back soon.
Have a good day ahead for both :)
Thanks!
Regards, M

@Manoj you say that the fields are already created by the 'JIRA developer' I am not exactly sure what you mean by this but if you mean that someone else is configuring what fields are in the issue, you need to ask them to add a 'Select list (cascading)' issue field to the issues in your project for you so you can populate them (see screenshot below)
Once this field is created and added to the screens for your project, you will see it like this:
You can set the first option
And depending on what you select for that, the second list will show different options
This is the kind of field you are looking for right?
