Editable attachments in JIRA

Is it possible to make attachments in JIRA editable, please?

We attach e.g. log files for debugging purposes, and it is useful for the developer to be able to annotate these. It would be better to be able to edit the attached file than have to download, edit, delete the original and re-attach (the files can be 120MB, so we don't want multiple copies attached!)

Has this been answered?  I am interested in the ability to edit JIRA attachments.
