Email - Do not send an e-mail to me when I update an issue

Paul Stonehouse December 15, 2011

Basically our need is,

When User X updates an issue, User X should not receive an e-mail

Our e-mail scheme is designed to be minimalist to avoid clutter. Therefore, we only send e-mails to the assignee and watchers when a change is made.

As assignee wants to know when someone else changes the issue.

However, they do not want to receive an e-mail when they update the issue.

For example, there is an issue JIRA-123.
I assign it to myself to resolve -> sends an e-mail Not needed
I work on the issue and update the description--> sends an e-mail Not needed
Our project manager adds some comments-->Sends an e-mail OK, I need to know
I resolve the issue-->sends an e-mail Not needed

take a look at you user setting (click on your username at the top of the screen) and see if you have the box "Notify me of my changes", checked. If you do, then uncheck it.

Wow, that was so simple. We spent a lot of time looking for it in the general configuration settings.

Thanks a bunch, I will share!!

You might want to consider setting it in the defaults as well.
