I am looking to implement SAML authentication in JIRA (datacentre).
I also want to keep other users credentials in the local database.
I would like 2 login options on the "normal" JIRA login screen for local and SAML/SSO users.
Is that possible?
It does not seem to be supported by Atlassian. https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-customize-the-login-gadget-225122084.html.
I am open to suggestions as to how others performed this.
thanks in advance.
Hi Seanm.
This is possible. I work for Kantega SSO, one of the add-on vendors supporting SAML authentication for Jira data center.
With our add-on, you can setup multiple SAML identity providers and also combine this with traditional logins.
For each identity provider you can specify rules for when and whom it should apply, and whether they should coexist with traditional login and how they should be presented on the login screen. I have attached an example screenshot showing how such settings are specified:
If you have one SAML idp and select "No redirection" and "Show link on the login screen", all users will be met with a login screen where they can choose between traditional username / password login and SAML authentication.
Please reach out if you want to test it out and have further questions to the solution or setup.
Regards,
Jon Espen
