Epic Issues not appearing on Kanban Board

I setup a new Kanban board and I created Epics in the Roadmap with Issues for each Epic.

When I create these issues they do not show in the Kanban board.

Can I have the issues in the Roadmap show up in the Kanban board?

Thanks, I don't see those configure options on a 'next-gen project' board.

I had Backlog enabled though and when I disabled it, the issues showed in the Kanban board.
