I'm using JIRA cloud, and I'm seeing the wrong Epic name shown against an issue.
The link is correct. But the name is wrong.
eg. My issue is part of "Epic Right", but the epic link shows "Epic Wrong". If I click on the link it takes me to "Epic Right".
Super confusing though.
See Example Below: ( from a list view ).
The Epic looks like it's in the TODO High Priority. But it's not ( it's actually a low ). If I click on link, it goes to the correct epic ( todo low ).

Answer is dumb user - me.
Epics have both summary and epic name.
These were different. Hence the link was right, yet the summary was wrong.
Should an epic have two titles? Probs not, but that's a different issue.
Case closed.
Epic Link field suggestions shows wrong Epic Names because fields "Epic Name" and "Summary" are different. I used a post-function in my Epics workflow after creation (before reaching first status), or when change to in progress, which would be copying "summary" to "Epic Name" value. I used this solution temporarily, as an work around.

This really confused me because it seems the Epic Name is used in the Epic Link dropdown list but the Roadmap view uses Epic Summary for labelling. Also, when you create an Epic the Epic Name is derived from the Summary that you type but when you change the Summary it then diverges from the Name. Why call the thing labelling the Epic a summary. Really odd behaviour this surely this is a bug?

This is one of the oddest posts I have seen TBH. Would you mind sharing screen shots demonstrating this oddity?

I've tried editting the EPic names. Just in case that reindexes something somewhere. not worked.

the screenshot confuses me, what is it a screenshot of? What I was hoping to see was a screenshot of the detailed issue view where the Epic Name is displayed and then the detailed issue view of the Epic itself when you click on the associated epic.

I've added the detailed view showing the wrong epic as requested.
You don't need the second screenshot - there's nothing wrong with the epic displayed, since the end result is the CORRECT epic.
I know, it's super odd. The text shows the wrong thing, but the link is right. Bizarre.

Thanks Adam. I have certainly never seen this before and am unsure what to suggest that you check further. I have questions that come to mind and things I would poke at but I would simply be guessing at this point. You might wish to contact Atlassian Support for hopefully quicker resolution. If you do get an answer please post back here for the benefit of future Community members.
