Epics not displaying in Epic list on issue

Trying to assign an epic to a story, and the only way i'm able to do it is if the epic is in the status of to do.  Anything that is in progress i'm not able to assign a story to that epic.  How can i fix this?

Hey Ismail, Are you able to add a story from within the epic while it is in-progress state?

Yes I'm able to add a story while epic is in the in-progress state...I just tried it now

This can be caused by many things, first what does it tell you when you try creating the story?

No it doesn't the epic just doesn't show in the drop down or if i put in the id, unless it is in the to do status.
