Error “You cannot change the association between step '6' and status 'In Progress'.”

Hello a project admin can't update his project's workflow by adding a new transition. The error "you cannot change the association between step '6' and status 'In Progress'.”  occurs. 

What is exactly a "step" knowing that we don't see steps when trying to update the workflow ?

What must we do to avoid the error message ?

You can see steps in Text mode. In the below example, "In progress" is step 6:

Can you please describe how you're trying to edit the workflow?

Finally my colleague told me that the error disappeared during his second trial. So he managed to update the workflow.
