I am getting an error trying to clone a specific issue. Just says that the issue cannot be cloned and to check my connection. I can clone other issues with no problems. Any idea what is causing this?
Hi @Lesley Lattier,
I am Marlene, product manager of Deep Clone for Jira.
Most of the time, when an issue fails to clone, it's because a required field is missing. Maybe someone in your company has added a required field after the original issues was created? You can check whether it would be possible to create the issue manually from the data of the original issue.
Another option would be to download the free trial of Deep Clone for Jira and try to clone the issue with our app. Since our app can clone between projects, it often happens that fields or issue types are missing in the target project. Therefore we provide more detailed error logs, which can help you to investigate.
In the example below you can see an error log of a bulk clone and move to another project. The listed issues cannot be cloned, because the required issue type is missing in the target project.

Thanks, but I don't think this is my issue as I am able to clone other issues. I am only receiving the error trying to clone one, specific issue.
