Hey!
I'm trying to integrate a new Bitbucket workspace to my Jira project. This project already has one existing workspace linked to it. When I go to code, then manage bitbucket accounts, then link bitbucket cloud workspace. I am getting the below message and am not able to proceed. What should my next steps be? Thanks in advance :)
Hi @jmarshall ,
Welcome to Atlassian Community Forum!
The error message you're seeing—"You can only install for a team. You must be an admin for a team to install Jira. Create a team or contact your team admin to begin installation"—is due to permissions required for linking Bitbucket workspaces to Jira projects.
Key points:
To link a Bitbucket workspace to a Jira project, you must be both a Bitbucket workspace admin and a Jira site admin. Being just a Jira project admin is not sufficient 1.
If you are not an admin for the Bitbucket workspace or the Jira site, you will not be able to complete the integration. This is why you are being prompted to contact your team admin or create a team 1.
The process requires admin access on both sides to authorize and establish the connection.
What you should do:
Check your permissions: Confirm that you are an admin for both the Bitbucket workspace you want to link and the Jira site.
Contact your admin: If you are not an admin, reach out to your Jira site admin or Bitbucket workspace admin and ask them to perform the integration.
Admin steps to link: The admin should go to Jira → Integrations → DVCS accounts → Link Bitbucket Cloud workspace, and follow the prompts. They must also be a Bitbucket workspace admin
