Excel export turns text field into date

Hi

I have custom field in JIRA where all entries are on the form "xx-xx" where x is a number. When I export a list of issues to excel entries which can be interpreted as date (for instance 9-13) turns into a date (for instance 13-Sep) instead of keeping the original value.

I have not been able to find any way to set the format of the column in excel before opening the file.

Does anyone know of any way I can get around this problem and have every entry interpreted as text?
