Exclude tasks with no epic from KANBAN board

We have a KANBAN board using EPICs as the swimlanes. At the bottom it puts the "Issues without epics" swimline that I'm trying to exclude from the board. I've tried doing both where Epic Name is not empty and where epic link is not empty and for some reason it removed everything from the board. 

Any ideas?
