I've found various articles and discussions about this, but not a definitive answer to if this is possible or how to achieve this.
We have quite a large Jira environment so to reduce any impact we have built a new project in a new seperate instance of jira (sand box) if you will.
We would now like to export from our Dev (Sand Box) environment into our live Jira environment.
Is there a way to do this? We use Jira in the cloud (not sure if that helps)
Kind Regards
James
Is option for 'Import External Project' available in Vanilla JIRA software 7.10.0 or JIRA Cloud ?
This can be achieved by doing a full system backup from your Dev environment, then importing a single project from the generated ZIP file into Live.
The backup file needs to be placed in the 'import' directory under your Jira Home dir. You will also need to copy over the project's attachments to this directory. Then select 'Import External Project' from the Projects menu in Live.
Once it starts you may receive warnings about missing workflow statuses, missing Custom Fields etc. You can resolve these issues and re-run the import.
