We are working on ways to clean up our Jira Instance.

Archiving projects is okay, but at some point we'd like to export the data and store it somewhere else for retention purposes.

The excel export seems pretty nice, but it seems to be missing attachments.

What solutions have you guys come up with for this?

Hi @Paul Madison

Assuming you always need attachments, your main/only option using out of the box Jira is a full site export (Doc: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/). This will backup the whole site though and you won't be able to cherry pick projects to re-import.

Otherwise, there are plugins on the market that will achieve this as long as you're willing to purchase the license for them. The main one I'd check out is:

* Configuration Manager for Jira by Appfire

You can then create a snapshot using this plugin of the projects in question, to re-import as required in the future!

Hope that helps - Steve.
