I have a pretty strange situation here.
If I create a new ticket in project X using the blue create button, the field "resolution" is not mandatory to be set.
However, if I create a ticket (same project and issue type) using the "create linked issue" from a ticket in another project, it's mandatory for me to select a resolution which doesn't make sense for a new ticket.
The field is not marked as required.
Anyone who have experienced the same?
The resolution field is a special one :-) Check to see if the resolution field is on the create or edit screen. If it is - remove it and do your test again.
I agree that it doesn't make sense that the different use cases behave differently but the field should only be introduced at the later stages of the life cycle. Normally we should set the field automatically via postfunctions OR allow the user to choose a resolution on a transition screen when entering the last green status.
