Find tickets in epics found by a filter

Lisa Pitts Harrell September 16, 2022

We organize everything by Epics.  We put labels on our epics to indicate which quarter they are to be completed in.  I have a filter to pull theses epics.

Q4 Epics Example: type = Epic AND labels = Q4_2022 AND "Team Name" = SpaceInvaders ORDER BY Rank

I have a second filter to to pull the ticket in these epics.

Q4 Tickets Example: "Epic Link" in (CRM-9264, CRM-5687, CRM-9263, CRM-9445)

I would like to be able to have the first filter feed the other so that I don't have to keep going in and manually updating my filters.

Something like "Epic Link" in (filter=25340)

But that doesn't work.  Hoping someone can help!

We have ScriptRunner but I can't get it to work.

I couldn't get that exact thing to work but this did:

issueFunction in issuesInEpics("labels = Q4_2022") AND "Team Name" = SpaceInvaders

Thank you

You would need a third-party app like ScriptRunner for Jira with additional JQL functions like issueFunction in epicsOf
