Hello, we are pretty new to the Jira cloud and I want to see if anyone else has experienced an issue with the Fix Version Field not finding all of the releases.
We create a Release for the project. Create a work order and when go to edit the Fix Version Field the release is not populating. So, I type the fix version release number in the filed and select the new option. But the new version does not take us to the previous fix version with the same fix version #. It seems to be creating a second fix version but when we search it only populates the first (original) one.
So I guess my question is how do we get the "original'" fix version # to populate in the ticket so that we don't create new fix versions?
Regards, Melissa
Added 05-Nov-2018: Are you not able to have one fix version used across multiple projects?
Hello Melissa,
Your question for having a single fix version across multiple projects is a great one, and you’re not the first to ask as this is a popular question. The short answer is versions are a point-in-time for a single project. Fix versions do not span across multiple projects.
With this said, there is a feature request to bring in support of a fix version for multiple projects. If would like to see this become a feature we would suggest you vote and watch the request for future updates; JRACLOUD-2698.
The official documentation around versions can be found here: Managing versions.
I hope you find this useful and that it answers you question.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
Thank you Stephen,
I am now also a watcher on the JRACloud-2698 as well. And I will review the link, managing versions, to see if there is something there we can use in the interim.
Have a good day,
Melissa
