Freeze or Archive a project with no activity under 2 weeks

KMEROVIL January 23, 2023

Hi everyone,

I'd like to create an automation rule.

Our goal is to freeze a project without activity under 2 weeks, then archive this project if there is no activity during 4 weeks.

Do you think this rule could be set?

Could you please help me?

Best regards

Karim

Hi Kmerovil,

There is no automation rule that will allow you to do a freeze or archive a project, those are administrative task meant to be done by a Jira Admin.

sorry for not being more useful. Cheers,

Nico

Hi @Nicolas Tagle

Thanks so much for your feedback.

I guessed this move was not possible but we never know.

Thanks for your help.

Hi @KMEROVIL

Welcome to the community!

Which version of Jira are you using?

As mentioned by @Nicolas Tagle there is no out-of-the-box feature to do this automatically.

In Jira 8.20.x onwards, there is a 'Clean up' option in the 'System' section where you can sort the projects by when the issue/ ticket was last created and archive them accordingly.  Unfortunately, this is a manual process.

Please refer to this as well: https://confluence.atlassian.com/clean/cleanup-guide-1018788576.html

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Vamsi

Hi @Vamsi Kandala ,

Thanks so much for your feed back.

I am using the 8.20 Datacenter version.

I'll try it and let you know.

Best regards

Karim
