Dear Community,
I am the project manager and I am in charge of creating project plans and evaluating the progress as well as tracking my projects and reporting on their progress using Gantt charts and dependencies. The report should include necessary resources, what-if analysis; dependencies between different tasks and milestones, etc. And I am now to choose between Microsoft project and any other Jira add-on or plug-in. What would be your advice on this?
Thanks,
Lena

What problems do you need to solve, questions do you need to answer, and reports do you need to make today as a project manager? And who needs access to that information?
I recommend listing those things, including any examples you have. And then you will be better able to compare the products (e.g., MS Project, Atlassian Marketplace apps, etc.) and see which can meet your needs...and where there are capability gaps, what you will need to mitigate.
Kind regards,
Bill
Thanks much dear @Bill Sheboy
Basically those are the needs:
I would appreciate your answer giving those needs.
Thank you very much in advance.

Now that you have identified your needs, please look for products in the Atlassian Marketplace to see what works for you and compare that to using Microsoft Project, or other PM tools.

Jira is a tool for work item management, and IMHO has limited, built-in capabilities for project management. You and your team will be better at assessing which other tools (or addons) will meet your needs.

Hello, @Lena Sargsyan. As @Bill Sheboy rightly points out, there are any number of products in the Atlassian Marketplace that may meet your needs.
You may be interested in joining the virtual Atlassian Community Events (ACE) chapter that several Atlassian Community Champions—including me—recently formed:
In fact, on Tuesday, June 24th we have an event where we'll be speaking with a panel of experts about why/when one might choose to add an Atlassian Marketplace add-on for program management to their Jira platform. You can read more about this event in an Atlassian Community article I recently publshed and judge for yourself if it makes sense to attend.

Based on your requirements, you may want to try our app, TeamBoard ProScheduler—Project Management, Resource Planning & Gantt Chart for Jira.
This app natively supports your Jira projects, which can help project managers efficiently manage teams and track progress for optimized planning and execution.
Try the app and let me know if you need further assistance 🙌

As @Bill Sheboy already pointed out, @Liam - DevSamurai, there are many products in the Atlassian Marketplace that may meet @Lena Sargsyan's needs.
I mean this in a constructive way (truly)... Your reply provides no additional value over and above Bill's reply, and only serves to promote your product.
Please familiarize yourself with the Atlassian Partner Rules of Engagement. The rules make it clear these sorts of replies are not appreciated by community members, and probably hurt your cause more than help it 👍
