jean-yves legras August 10, 2021

Hi everyone ^^,

I would to know if it's possible to get Get the date when you change the colomn of a ticket et put this date in an excel.

For example, I have a kanban with 3 column, when i pass the ticket from the first to the second column, the date is printed in excel and same when i pass from the second to the third (in a different case).

I hope my explanation will be definite enough and sorry for my aproximative english

Have a great day

Hey,

It's possible to get this from the history on tickets but this is a pain.

I've done a similar thing using the Automation tool and a custom field.

You can create a new date custom field and stick that on a tab so it's out of the way for users and then using the automation tool you can simply set the value of the field on transition to whichever status you want using the smart value {{now}}

Hope that helps :)

Hi @jean-yves legras

If you're a cloud user and looking for an easy way to get the date when you change the column of a ticket, you can check Time in Status for Jira Cloud. This is a time-reporting add-on developed by my team. The report you need is called Status Entrance Date. Here is an example:

Hope you find this helpful.

Hello @jean-yves legras

Our team at OBSS built Time in Status app for this need. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.

Time in Status mainly allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status but it also has date reports that show the entry and exit dates for all statuses.

All the reports are calculated using Jira issue histories so you don't need to modify your workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.

Time in Status has its own reporting page, it also has dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs.

Using Time in Status you can:

  • See how much time each issue spent on each status, assignee, user group and also see dates of status transitions.
  • Calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by issue fields you select. (For example, see average InProgress time per project and per issue type.)
  • Export your data as XLS, XLSX, or CSV.
  • Access data via REST API. (for integrations)
  • Visualize data with various chart types.
  • See Time in Status reports on Jira Dashboard gadgets

Hi @jean-yves legras

As an alternative, you can try Status Time app developed by our team. It provides reports based on status entry dates and you can export this data as csv and open it in Excel.

Apart from status entry date, you can get reports on how much time passed in each status.

Once you enter your working calendar into the app, it takes your working schedule into account too. That is, "In Progress" time of an issue opened on Friday at 5 PM and closed on Monday at 9 AM, will be a few hours rather than 3 days. It has various other reports like assignee time, status entry dates, average/sum reports by any field(eg. average in progress time by project, average cycle time by issue creation month). And all these are available as gadgets on the dashboard too.

Here is the online demo link, you can see it in action and try.

If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free. Hope it helps.
